For people wishing to immigrate to New Zealand,
the Brandon Health Clinic in the city's centre, provides a
specialist and efficient service for your immigration health
requirements.
Our surgery offers a comprehensive Immigration
Medical including the medical examination, help for organising
chest x-rays and blood tests and any other tests necessary
to meet the immigration requirements. Please note there is
an additional cost for the x-rays and blood tests. You will
need to make an appointment at our clinic for approximately
one hour and will then need a separate appointment for an
X-ray. A "fasting" blood test may be required.
Immigration Medicals are required if you are applying for
a temporary visa or permit for New Zealand and you intend
to stay longer than 12 months, or if you are applying for
residence.
Brandon Health Clinic is able to provide a quick turnaround
for immigration medicals, normally 24 - 48 hours as long as
there are no complications.
Here’s What to Do
Make your appointment with Doctor John Gyenge at Brandon
Health Clinic by telephoning 04 499 3886 or completing
our immigration medical booking form.
Before you visit our surgery, please go to the New
Zealand Immigration website and download the NZ Immigration
Health Forms. Fill in the first page of the form,
BUT DON’T SIGN IT as they need to be
witnessed by the doctor. Please also complete the Client X-Ray
Form which is now separate and is listed on the New Zealand
Immigration website with the rest of the forms.
When you come to your appointment, please bring
• the Immigration Medical Forms with personal details
on page 3 completed (don't forget the separate X-Ray form)
• your passport
• passport photos (3 recent ones are required)
• eye glasses (or contact lenses) if you use them
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment,
so we can check your Immigration Medical Forms.
Note: A urine sample has to be done at the surgery or at
the laboratory.
Women – the immigration medical cannot be carried
out during your period as the urine sample can’t be
taken during menstruation and up to three days afterwards.
To make an appointment for an immigration medical,
contact the surgery in the middle of Wellington City on 04
499 3886.
You'll find us at Level 2, 22 Brandon Street, Wellington.
